Here is a short recap of our weekend in Vienna on March 29 to March 31. Sarah got invited to a trip to Vienna through her course at Stockholm University and traveled down on March 26 for some visits and other events for 3 days. I followed by flying down on Friday morning to stay for 2 nights. We had gotten a hotel right on what is called Stadtpark in downtown Vienna. I arrived around 1 pm and we got checked in and went out for lunch and made our way with the help of Google Maps to a place called Cafe Demel for some Gulash Suppe and Apfelstrudel for lunch. After lunch we walked around and took in some sites around the area Inner Stadt and checked out some views like Domkirche St. Stephan, Shakespeare & Company (a bookstore that smelled so bad from indoor smoking we left pretty sonn after entering) and onde of the synagogues of the area.

For dinner we went out for some ramen noodles at Shoyu Ramen which was around the corner from our hotel. After this we went in search for a place i had gotten a recommendation for, Café Central. We made it there about half an hour before they closed but they got us a table and our order in plenty of time so we would not feel stressed. Super good stuff and nice atmosphere.

Saturday was our only full day in Vienna and I think we made most of it. Here is the list of what we did and saw.
– Hop-on Hop-off Bus out to Schloss Schönbrunn
Schoss Schönbrunn
Schloss Belvadere including the painting The Kiss by Klimt
The Giants Ferris wheel
– Dinner at the MAK

Sunday basically was a slow morning and we did another visit to Demel for lunch and then we did some shopping before heading out to the airport via the airport train and it was nice that we could check in our luggage already at the train station in the city. All in all it was a great visit and I thnk we will come back.

Here are a few pictures that i took through out the weekend. #moretocome
